Words from Jawadhu Hills is an exploration in dialogic interaction in a specific place, the Jawadhu hills. Rather than a strict application of the methods of linguistic ethnography, this booklet is a collaborative exercise in storytelling with words. Paying attention to words pertaining to the landscape, objects, tools, techniques, rituals, etc., offers a generative space of narration, somewhere between macrosociological analyses and thick descriptions in humanities research.

Words from Jawadhu Hills est une exploration de l’interaction dialogique dans un lieu spécifique : les collines de Jawadhu. Plutôt qu’une application stricte des méthodes de l’ethnographie linguistique, ce livret est un exercice collaboratif de narration à travers les mots. Porter attention aux termes liés au paysage, aux objets, aux outils, aux techniques, aux rituels, etc., ouvre un espace narratif fécond, à mi-chemin entre les analyses macrosociologiques et les descriptions denses propres à la recherche en sciences humaines.
